The What?

A Wedding

You can’t be overdressed, so go big, look good and have fun with it. In other words, dust off your raddest attire and polish up your dancing shoes cause it is about to be a party.

The Where?

The Titlow Lodge in Tacoma

8425 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA 98465

The Titlow Lodge was built in 1911 by Aaron R. Titlow, a prominent Tacoma attorney and businessman. The lodge was part of a larger resort complex known as “Titlow Beach Lodge and Park.” The resort featured amenities such as a hotel, dance pavilion, and a saltwater swimming pool, attracting visitors from Tacoma and beyond. In 1926 The Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma acquired the property and in 1928 the Hotel Hesperides reopened as the Titlow Beach Lodge. The lodge was closed from 1937-1941 during a Works Progress Administration park improvement project. During the project, the top two stories of the lodge were removed. After the remodel, part of the lodge housed the Assistant Superintendent of Parks and his family and another part was used as a rental facility.

The Basics

Where to Stay in Tacoma

There are many delightful hotels in the Tacoma metro area. For our guests we will be reserving a block of rooms at the following hotels.

Traveling Tacoma

Air Travel

Getting to Tacoma couldn’t be easier. Use the following sections to learn more about getting to and around Tacoma.

Air Travel

We recommend flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac). It is the closest to Tacoma, and has the best private and public transportation. SeaTac has nonstop flights from many major US cities including St. Louis and Salt Lake City.

Train

If crowded airports and squished seats aren’t for you, Amtrak might be the right fit. Seattle’s King Street Station serves as the hub for Amtrak services, providing passengers with access to various destinations along the West Coast and across the country. Also, if you’ve got time to spare (we see you retirees), flying into Portland and taking the train up is super lovely.
